This is one of the highlights of Central Africa, and among the best spots in Cam for cameras! Integrated into the Congo basin, the Lobéké national park is located at the extreme south-east of Cameroon. It covers an area of 217,854 hectares and is adjacent to two other national parks in the Central African Republic (Dzanng-sangha national park) and the Republic of Congo (parc national de Nouabale ndoki) with which it forms the tri-national (TNS), cross-border conservation initiative of biodiversity and UNESCO world heritage.

All about the Yaoundé – Lobéké Park.

In Lobéké national park, there are continuously small “bai” or forest clearings that attract a large variety of fauna with large mammals (gorillas, chimpanzees, elephants, buffaloes, and antelopes). The Lobéké has a rich and varied biodiversity in plant and wildlife resources as there are 45 mammals species, 305birds species, 18 reptiles species, 16 amphibians species, 134 fishes species, 215 butterflies species, 764 plant species belonging to 102 families which have been identified.

  1. Day 2 Yaoundé-Doume- Batouri

    Departure from Yaoundé, and drive to Batouri stopping along the way to visit several attractions including cities, villages, and pygmy camps

  2. Day 3 Batouri – Yokadouma- Mambélé.

    Drive to Mambélé village, where you will experience a cultural and traditional pygmy dance this evening.

    Overnight in guesthouse this evening.

  3. Day 4 Mambélé- Lobéké National Park

    Administrative formalities with the park authorities and departure to the forest. Installation in the “petite savanne” camp. This afternoon, guests will enjoy safaris in “petite savanne”.

    Overnight in tents.

  4. Day 5 Lobéké National Park

    Full day safari in and around “petite savanne”.

    Day 6: Lobéké National Park

    Trek to “grande savanne”, full day safari and overnight in “grande savanne” camp.

    Day 7: Lobéké National Park

    Safari in “grande savanne” in the morning, and trek back to “petite savanne” in the afternoon.

    Overnight in “petite savanne” camp.

    Day 8: Lobéké National Park – Mambélé

    Safari in “petite savanne” in the morning, and trek to the “car drop off point in the afternoon.

    Drive to Mambélé, evening activities with pygmies and overnight in guest’s house.

    Day 9: Mambéle – Yokadouma- Batouri

    Drive to Batouri. Overnight in hotel.

    Day 10: Batouri- Yaoundé

    Drive from Batouri to Yaoundé. Overnight.

    Day 11: Transfer to Yaounde Airport

    End of tour.
